Are you aware of your thymus? Do you know its purpose? Or where it is in your body?
Allow me to let you in on something wonderful.
Every person has a lymphatic system running throughout his or her body. One of the main functions of the lymphatics is to maintain homeostasis in the body. This is done by continually combating harmful agents (pathogens) in our environment.
Despite constant exposure to dis-ease producing bacteria and viruses, most people remain healthy. This is your lymphatic and immune system at work.
In infants, the thymus is large, and aids the child in fighting off the major causes of dis-ease. After puberty the thymus starts to deteriorate and continues doing so until we die.
The thymus is located in the middle of the chest, under your sternum. If you run your fingers down you sternum you should become aware of a part that is more sensitive than the rest. Mine is about a hands width above my nipples right in the middle of my chest. Ouch!
By stimulating the thymus, we slow down the decline and increase the functionality.
And all you have to do is rub or thump this point daily. Morning and night is the perfect time to do it, as the lymphatics are most active.
Funny how gorillas pound their chests in that exact spot…
My husband seems to like the pounding technique more than the rubbing or thumping!
This technique should be used as a precautionary measure to prevent colds and flu and is most efficient when combined with a little natural supplement.
Echinacea.
Ever hear of it? Echinacea is a natural promoter of dis-ease resistance and helps to maintain a strong immune system. It is available in liquid or capsule form from any health shop and most pharmacies.
Taken at the onset of a cold, it gives the immune system a powerful boost and in most cases reduces the cold to only a few sniffles. Echinacea should NOT be taken continuously for long periods at a time. Two weeks on and two weeks off is a healthy approach.
There are also herbal Echinacea tees available.
This is the natural and holistic approach to health and I hope you share it with everyone you know!
