How to make a flower girl wreath
By Lee Wilson
Making your own wreaths, favors, flower bouquets, etc. for your
wedding can really bring down the cost of things and help you
keep things in budget. One thing I made for my flower girl was a
sweet wreath for her hair. I also made a smaller version for her
to use on her baby doll, so she was thrilled as well.
Making a wreath is very easy and there are a couple of different
ways you can construct it. You will need the following items:
1. Thin wire or a pre-made wire ring 2. floral tape 3. baby's
breath 4. very small silk roses 5. ribbon
All items I use are very delicate and sweet looking.
If you use the thin wire, you will need to shape it into a
circle. Be sure to press the ends together well where the two
ends meet so there are to sharp ends poking out. After you make
the circle cover it in floral tape. If you have chosen to use
the pre-made wire ring you can skip right to covering the ring
in floral tape. This layer of floral tape is the base layer.
After the wire circle is covered in floral tape you can start to
add the baby's breath. Do it this way: 1. Gather some of the
baby's breath, you will have to judge how much, make sure they
are facing the same way. 2. Add them to the wreath by taping
them on with the floral tape. 3. Continue to do this all the way
around the wreath. It will look "spotty" in the beginning, but
it will soon fill out.
After you attach the baby's breath you can go around and stick
the sill roses into the floral tape. You will have to reach
beneath the baby's breath to do this.
Voila! You have an adorable wreath for your flower girl. Be sure
to make one for her doll as well, she will love it.
