How to Succeed at MLM and Internet Marketing
By Susan Dunn, MA, Professional Life Coach

We all dream of making it rich on the Internet, but it isn't as easy as it looks and there's a lot of hype out there. Becoming a certified Preventive Healthcare and EQ coach can position you uniquely. Help people, enhance your online marketing, have your own business and line of products, be financially independent, and make a difference in people's lives.

Combine coaching and health products with your current specialty for a dynamite combination. Here are 10 tips on how to get your MLM launched to a new level:

1. Choose a quality company with a range of excellent products, research and sales-records to back it up.

The shopper will gain confidence in a company, and you, and have a selection to choose from. You can take turns promoting first one product, then the next. This makes you a person who meets needs, not someone who sells a widget.

2. Choose something people use every day and that everyone needs.

How can you lose when you sell something people use every day and need, like shaving cream, cosmetics, anti-aging skincare, or nutraceuticals?

3. Choose a product or service aimed at the future - something people in their 20s and 30s need, because you want customers who will stay with you for years.

Arbonne (http://tinyurl.com/9jzsf ) is an example of a company that meets all these specifications. It offers baby care products, for instance, and anti-aging skincare. You must start taking care of your skin in your 20s and 30s, and that's baby-time as well. If you get a customer interested when they're young, their years with you and your products will be longer. They also offer a shaving cream with pure, natural ingredients. And with Bird flu, nutraceuticals are on everyone's minds now.

4. Position yourself optimally by investing in coach certification. Become an EQ Coach - a Wellness Coach. EQ covers everything, mot of all, health. This gives you clout. EQ is so hot right now. "Health" encompasses a large number of the things people want to buy -- nutraceuticals, cosmetics, clothing, ebooks, Internet courses, baby products, cleaning products, further education, music, and books, are just a few. The bottom line on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is health, because emotions directly influence our immune system which is our health. There are no antibiotics for viruses, like the Bird flu. The money you invest in this coach certification will be more than paid back. You will stand out in the crowd and join a new and growing field. Establish yourself as a coach, and expert in your area.

5. Write articles about your product on the net. Website, ezine and blog owners will choose your fantastic articles for their websites, giving you free publicity and many links back to your website. This establishes you as an expert (add the coaching certification!), and, if well-written, will train people to look to you as a resource. Be careful of the quality, as you are establishing your reputation. You want ezine and blog editors to see your name and anticipation grammatically correct, well-written, informative articles for their clientele, not just adverts.

6. Establish a blog. Make sure it changes daily and is rich in resources. If it's just an advert, no one will return. Blogger.com (http://www.blogger.com is one source where you can set up a free one.

5. Ping your blog additions. Here's one site where you can ping: http://www.technorati.com/ping.

7. Make your website more than a shell for one product. The more information and resources you offer, on a continual basis, the more people will come back. You want to position yourself as someone who gives valuable information and meets needs. Always follow the bread crumb trail. A person will buy a product and it will suggest another, or someone will tell them, "That's fine but you need--" Be thinking of things down the line. For instance, I teach emotional intelligence, which deals with stress. Anyone wanting to learn EQ to manage stress, will also need a good nutraceutical (arbonne), perhaps fitness equipment, I'll be recommending books (amazon.com affiliate), they will need an image makeover (www.thecloser.cc/arbonne_makeover_susan.html ), and so forth. The idea is never to turn away business. Either provide it, or send them to someone who does. As a coach, you can refer to other coaches and get a referral fee.

8. Give free teleclasses. You probably won't make much money if you charge for the course, while if you give it free, you will reap many benefits. Do it through a place like www.teleclass.com and you'll (1) get exposure by being listing on their website and being on their mailing list which can be tens of thousands; (2) (2) establish yourself as an expert (coach certification credentials help), (3) feel good and make others feel good by giving away information.

Example? I coach emotional intelligence and preventive healthcare. I give seminars on stress management and EQ for health. From there I can offer Arbonne nutraceuticals, like Defense Builder, scientifically proven to support the immune system. It's a natural.

9. Gather email addresses and start an ezine. Analyze data. An attractive, brief, informative ezine is everyone's favorite. Constant Contact (http://cjaffiliate.constantcontact.com/?AID=2832190&PID=1371869 ) offers an easy-to-use, affordable, attractive format. You can create ezines months in advance and have them automatically sent. This is great when you're on vacation, sick, etc. Constant Contact provides data you can analyze, i.e., you want to see which ezines do best and then figure out why. If you aren't good at analyzing data, a one-hour session with a marketing coach can be invaluable.

9. Don't ever say "Sorry, I don't sell that" more than one time. If one customer wants it, they aren't alone. If your customer asks for something you don't currently provide, don't sit there like a bump on a log. Take the hint the universe is sending you! Business is about recognizing opportunity, and your clients teach your. Either affiliate it, or find someone who does and partner with them. Don't ever let business get away. 10. Get coaching. A marketing coach can put you light year's ahead in the learning curve. The Internet moves fast and you have to be set to go. If you can't write, they can generate articles for you.
